The Supply Chain and Process Improvement Analyst will have primary focus on planning and executing complex supply chain data analysis using mathematical, statistical and/or Operations Research techniques; establishing, retrieving and combining current and historical C&S; and ES3 Transportation data
Will be responsible for analyzing & recommending network-wide least-cost distribution models; would include freight & warehousing cost structures
Will inherently involve extensive MS Excel based analyses; MS SQL (or equivalent) and MS Access based data mining exercises to extract transportation and financial data
Will assist in improving current database structures and developing new ones; as well as assist in developing and implementing Business Intelligence dashboards to identify, report and track key Transportation metrics
Will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial models to determine and assess customer transportation costs, including new business opportunities, as well as evaluating existing customer profitability
Will be involved with development of new processes, validation of existing processes, maintaining process documentation & version control and operations improvement
Will assist in the annual budget development process for $6
million weekly spend & coordinate with the operational finance team to prepare overlays & re-forecasts on a quarterly basis
Will assist in designing and developing models and analytical reports to evaluate and track current state operations and simulate future state operations to identify improvement opportunities
Will work closely with regional Facility Managers and the Transportation Management Team to assist in optimizing efficiency, productivity, and workflow processes associated with the day-to-day warehouse and transportation operations
Will perform scheduled review of network, i.e. quarterly and annual, to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
Will assist in developing daily/weekly/monthly operating plans, staffing projections, volume/throughput analysis, slotting plans, and contingency operating plans
Required:
BS/BA degree, preferably in Operations Research, Engineering, Math, Logistics or other technical area
Strong analytical, logic, math and problem solving skills
Strong communication and presentation skills
2 - 5 years experience in a logistics environment; industrial engineering, operations management, process improvement or similar in warehouse or transportation environment
Technical skills required: MS Office (Intermediate to Advanced in MS Excel is a must), SQL
Desired:
Masters in any of the above mentioned fields would be a plus
Fundamental understanding of network optimization, freight mode optimization, Warehouse/Yard design, layout and slotting
User level and/or implementation experience in WMS & TMS systems is desirable
Experience and exposure to transportation operations & concepts is desirable
Experience with data mining, business intelligence tools, financial planning and analysis would be a plus
Ability to work effectively and productively without direct on-site supervision
Strong self-starter, persuasive and able to affect change when required with upper level management team
