09 Position # TMPPT5924 Part-Time The State of New Hampshire, Department of Education, Division of Workforce Innovation & Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation has a part time vacancy for an Employment Specialist.
SCOPE OF WORK:
Provide employment placement services to individuals with disabilities and specialize in assisting businesses to identify workforce recruitment needs.
To provide comprehensive services to increase employment potential and optimize personal independence for eligible persons with disabilities within a specified region for New Hampshire Vocational Rehabilitation.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Advises NHVR counselors on applicable job development services using community-based knowledge and relationships to encourage the development of appropriate pathways that lead to an employment goal.
Consults regional business partners to identify employment and work-based learning opportunities for NHVR participants and assist in their efforts to hire, recruit, and promote individuals with disabilities.
Develops and provides comprehensive services in order to enhance career seeking and retention skills.
Researches and disseminates Labor Market information to assist the NHVR counselor in identifying appropriate career goals for NHVR participants.
Collaborates with existing NHVR Community Rehabilitation Program providers in order to provide job placement assistance and services to employers.
Records business specific data into statewide database, Neoserra, and provides NHVR Counselors with case specific reports in order to maintain state and federal compliance.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major study in social work, psychology, sociology, education, rehabilitation counseling, vocational guidance, human resources, human services, business or a related field.
Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience:
Two years of professional or paraprofessional experience in education, vocational guidance, rehabilitation counseling, human resources, worker's compensation, workforce development, employment services, human services, business, or a related field with responsibility for planning, monitoring programs, or performing research.
Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
