As a Maintenance Aide I, you will be physically active throughout the day with a variety of duties! This position is responsible for assisting the Highway Division road crews with maintenance and repair of City streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
This includes the use of a jackhammer, digging, shoveling, and lifting.
The Maintenance Aide I also cleans and repairs catch basins, repairs damage caused by snowplows, plows and removes snow, mows and maintains lawns and sweeps sidewalks, among other duties assigned! Note:
This position is subject to recall and stand-by duty during non-regular working hours, weekends, and holidays.
In addition, if holding a commercial drivers license (CDL), this position is subject to federal CDL drug and alcohol requirements.
This position should be able to respond within 60 minutes, depending on weather conditions, to staff the work site.
Minimum
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education/experience.
A valid drivers license is required, and a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is desired; Level I Roads Scholar License desired.
Pay and
Benefits:
During the 6-month probationary period, the pay range for this position is $16.
09- $17.
57 per hour.
Upon successful completion of the probationary period, this position will move to the regular pay schedule which consists of pay steps and hourly rates ranging from $17.
79- $21.
21 per hour, depending on experience.
