93 per hour The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles has a part time vacancy for Security Officer II-Keene location.
This is a part time position, which must not exceed 29.
5 hours per work week and does not offer insurance benefits.
Summary:
To provide security coverage at various Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) locations by monitoring lobby activities and facilitating the enforcement of Federal, State, and local laws and departmental policies and procedures, ensuring the control and safety of staff and customers.

5 Years of additional relevant experience = Associate's degree 36 Months or 3 Years of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's degree 54 Months or 4.
5 Years of additional relevant experience = Master's degree MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education:
High school diploma or high school equivalency credential.
Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience:
Two years' experience in law enforcement work as a NH certified police officer or accepted certification by Police Standards and Training Council, or as a security officer, a correctional officer, active military or veteran with honorable discharge, or combination of positions that would evidence possession of the requisite skills necessary for satisfactory performance at this level.
License/Certification:
Valid New Hampshire driver's license.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.
A thorough character investigation and reference check will be made before appointment.
Candidates who do not have good character or a conviction free record of serious offenses will be ineligible for appointment.

Must be at least 21 years of age at appointment.
3.
Physical exam is required upon offer of employment.
4.
Must possess a valid driver's license in the state in which the employee resides, with appropriate endorsements required for the type of vehicle being operated.
Must possess or successfully complete a Defense Driving Course as approved by the New Hampshire Safety Council within the first six (6) months of employment.
As a condition of and prior to hire, the applicant must have verified their current New Hampshire driving record supplied by the Dept.
of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles indicating no major traffic violations.

May be required to work a flexible schedule including, but not limited to, early morning, evening and/or weekend hours.

May be required to travel throughout the State and work at various satellite offices for periods of time.
7.
May be required to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with applicable DOS and DMV policies.
Responsibilities:
Monitors customer flow and activity and maintains lobby security and safety at DMV facilities throughout the State.
Conducts patrols and inspects buildings, grounds and parking lots to detect safety hazards, suspicious activities and/or potential threats to local office property, staff and/or clients.
Responds to fire alarms, emergencies and potentially hostile situations and assists customers, staff and law enforcement agencies with agitated customers and/or visitors.
Reports potential threats to the Director, Deputy Director and law enforcement as appropriate.
Communicates with law enforcement in matters requiring a police response, including coordination with law enforcement to facilitate enforcement of state and federal laws.
Prepares written reports such as daily logs and incident reports relating to security and safety matters.
Directs the public by identifying local office designated entry point(s), communicating contact person/department, or area required, and providing general information and/or instruction.
Provides assistance to clients, staff, the public and responding emergency units during the evacuation of buildings due to fire, bomb threats or other emergencies.
Maintains professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with policies.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal and analytical skills and utilizes de-escalation techniques as needed or required to ensure a safe environment.
Travels to various DMV substations as needed.
