The Security Officer performs a variety of duties involving safety, security, emergency management, patrols buildings and grounds, monitors parking and traffic, responds to and investigates security incidents, and assists and interacts with patients, visitors, vendors and staff as needed. The job description does not state or imply that these are the only duties to be performed. Security Officers may be required to perform other tasks or duties as requested by the Security Supervisor and Director of Safety/Security/Environmental Services. Associate s degree or equivalent experience required. Criminal Justice degree preferred. 2-3 years experience in hospital or campus security, law enforcement, corrections or military police experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and exposure which provides proficiency in the areas of requirements listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements. Must be 18 years of age or older. Valid and unencumbered driver s license required. Must be able to provide driver s record from state of current driver s license with a clean driving record. Must obtain NH Security Guard license within probationary period (and completed a criminal record check that allows for a NH Security Guard license). Must complete CPI, Management of Aggressive Behavior, and Use of Controlled Force training within one year of employment. (Note: Use of Controlled Force training within 6 months of hire). Maintains all required training and/or certifications (CPI, Use of Force, etc.).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
