Senior Staff Accountant, Operations Finance

The Senior Staff Accountant will perform professional accounting functions involving compilation, consolidation, analysis, and review of financial data in assigned areas.
Prepare and process Transportation billings (Delivery Revenue, Fuel Surcharge and Special Activities) to all necessary C&S; customers.
Ensure that customer billings are accurate and reflect contractual terms.
Leverage the Oracle system to ensure that any adjustments authorized by the contracts are executed in a timely manner.
Work with Legal, Sales & Corporate Development teams on new business proposals.
Partner with Accounts Receivable to ensure timely execution of billings.
Thorough understanding of expense activity to enable the ability to analyze and test billings for validity and accuracy.
Challenge internal processes in efforts to streamline activity through process improvement/system automation.
Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in coordination with Transportation Operations.
Educate Finance and Transportation colleagues on the specifics regarding customer billings.
Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure all balances are fully supported in accordance with established Accounting practices.
Communicate balance composition and variance analysis to management.
Support the weekly / monthly closing process.
Collect and upload Transportation metrics data into Hyperion.
Assess the accuracy of metrics data and work with Operations to resolve any irregularities.
Complete quarterly carbon usage reporting.
Ensure all procedures are kept current.
Assist other members of the Operations Finance team as needed.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
At least two years of Accounting experience
Detailed orientated with excellent organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and take direction from multiple sources
Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Oracle
Experience with Microsoft Access, GL Wand and Hyperion preferred
