Job Description: Individual obtains readings of watt-hour meters and associated demand attachments through various electronic reading devices, collects customer payments, and connects and disconnects self-contained watt-hour meters. Individual will also perform various duties associated with the meter reading department. This position requires the ability to perform basic math functions, communicate effectively, follow instructions, and work without direct supervision. This position also requires the individual to work outside in adverse weather conditions. Outside work experience and prior electrical meter reading experience is preferred. Must be willing and available to work overtime as required. Additional requirements include the successful completion of the Meter Reader aptitude test, a valid Motor Vehicle Operator''s License and a proven safe driving record. Knowledge of the geographical area is strongly preferred. The ultimate rate for this position is $27.37 per hour. THIS POSITION WILL HAVE A DURATION OF LESS THAN THREE YEARS DUE TO METER READING TECHNOLOGY CHANGES.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
