Lead and coordinate work flow, team members, and/or transportation projects to ensure service performance & profit goals are met.
Lead/train and promote the development of transportation clerks, so that they are able to effectively fulfill their job requirements and attain further skills and knowledge that will allow for growth within the company. This is accomplished by challenging team members with additional tasks/responsibilities outside their day to day job functions.
Maintain analytical files for Key Performance indicators Yard, On Time Delivery and provide reports detailing on time performance of previous day, End of Month Activity and others as requested.
Develop an effective working relationship with other transportation team members/buying department Customer Service /trucking companies/ Warehouse / & outside vendors.
Support ad hoc projects and efforts as needed.
What Our Ideal Candidate Brings
Preferable that you have earned a two or four year degree, HS Diploma or GED required. You need to have at least three to five years of progressively responsible experience in Transportation and be familiar with DOT regulations; Commercial Driver's License a huge plus; one to three years in a related supervisory capacity (10
associates). High Volume Hands-On Distribution/Warehouse environment experience a huge plus; MS Office; LMS/WMS Software skills (e.g. Wherenet, XATA, Legacy systems) and SQL; OSHA safety regulatory standards, and Certifications Preferred in Food Safety, Fork Lift Operator and HACCP.
